The Fruit Flush Diet, is often referred to as the Fruit Diet. It has gotten a lot of attention, as this free weight loss plans promises an astounding 9-10 pound weight loss in just three days.
The beasic premise behind the Fruit Flush Diet is based on eating fruit every two hours for 3 days.
“During the 3-Day Fruit Flush, your system is relieved of the digestive burden of eating other foods and can clean out its system while burning fat because fruit is nature’s perfect cleansing food,” says personal trainer and certified clinical nutritionist Jay Robb, author of the Fruit Flush 3 Day Detox.
He says following the Fruit Flush Diet will help flush out toxins that result from a diet of overly processed foods, artificial ingredients, alcohol, junk food, and more.

Robb says, “When you eat fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean protein for 36 hours, you go into a fat-burning mode which preserves your muscle mass,” he says.
Robb does not deny that most of the 9-10 pound weight loss you can expect during the Fruit Flush Diet will come from water, especially if your diet is very low in sodium, but he says the fast weight loss is a great motivator for anyone starting a long-term weight loss program. Here’s how Robb explains the theory behind his weight loss plan: “Fruits and vegetables are lively to the system, and, as a result, the body is relieved of the digestive burden of other foods and can clean house by flushing away toxins and going into a fat-melting mode.”
Fruit Flush Diet Plan Rules:
The Fruit Flush Diet requires only two steps.
Day 1 – Drink protein shakes.
Followed by 2 days of eating fresh fruit every two hours, plus a dinner meal of raw vegetables and a small amount of lean protein or a protein shake.
Beyond fresh fruit, raw vegetables, protein drinks, and lean sources of protein, there is very little you can eat on the Fruit Flush Diet. Dairy, caffeine, coffee, tea, alcohol, diet and regular sodas, starches, cooked vegetables, juices, most fats, and all sweets are prohibited.
The Fruit Flush Diet Meal Plan Sample:
Day 1 (Pre-flush)
Every two hours from 8 a.m. to 4 pm: Drink a 6-ounce protein drink (void of any sweeteners, artificial colors, or other ingredients listed below), followed by 8-12 ounces of water
Dinner: 3-6 cups of raw vegetable salad, with 1 to 2 tablespoons olive or flaxseed oil or 1/2 avocado, plus half a lemon or lime
3-6 ounces lean protein or egg whites
Days 2 and 3
Every two hours from 8 a.m. to 4 pm: Eat one serving (approximately 100 calories’ worth) of fresh fruit and drink 8-12 ounces water
Dinner: 3-6 cups of raw vegetable salad with 1 to 2 tablespoons olive or flaxseed oil or 1/2 avocado, plus half a lemon or lime
1 protein drink
Protein powders should NOT include:
Casein
Calcium caseinate
Sodium caseinate
Fructose
Aspartame
Acesulfame-K
Acesulfame potassium
Sucralose
Sugar
Sucrose
Evaporated cane juice
Artificial flavors and/or colors

From what I have read about the Fruit Flush diet from the experts is not too flattering, once again there is a concern that this weight loss plan, like other rapid diets, such as the Cabbage Soup Diet, are temporary band aids and not long term solutions, but I do think that this diet may be useful to get a kick start onto a more healthy eating lifestyle change and better long term eating, such as a healthy all around diet full of fat burning foods and exercise.
